If you found yourself ship-wrecked or cast-away on a deserted island, could you use science to find out where on the Earth you are? We will explore how you can make simple homemade tools and use some basic astronomy to discover our latitude and longitude.

Jonathan Hare is a physicist, science communicator and television presenter. He was one of the first people to make and extract C60 Buckminsterfullerene, the football shaped molecule, and was one of the presenters on the BBC Rough Science series.
