Making Music Fun in Lockdown – Ben England – Ages 8-11

Ages 8-11

Join Ben for an online music-making experience to remember!  Learn some great fun songs, then discover how to record them and create your own choir by using multi-track recordings on everyday devices like phones and laptops.  Note this presentation will make use of free software for both Apple devices (Garageband) and PC (Audacity) as well as headphones.

Ben England

Ben England BEM is a conductor, educator, singer and animateur based in Bristol, UK.  Ben qualified as a music teacher in 2003 and has taught classroom music to students of all ages as a Head of Music and subsequently Director of Music for a large Multi-Academy Trust.  Ben worked as an Advanced Skills Teacher for the county of South Gloucestershire training other music teachers, as well as Vocal and Instrumental Strategy manager for the City of Bristol, leading music with groups of thousands of young people at a time.  Ben’s innovative work with online choirs for all ages during the COVID pandemic led to his being awarded the Bristol Empire Medal for services to Choral Music and the Community in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2020.
