Do you love to dance to your favourite song? Do you remember the words to the first song you ever learned? Music is everywhere! But why do we love music, and why does it make us think, feel, laugh, cry, and dance? Does music change our brain, and can it be used as medicine? More importantly…can music make us happy and make us feel better? Join Emer Maguire, to solve the mystery of music (according to science!)
Emer Maguire is an international award winning science communicator turned musical comedy success story. She is a double Irish Radio award winning BBC presenter, and a unique event host and MC. Her debut solo musical comedy show ‘Emer Maguire: Hilarious Humans’ sold out its debut run in Edinburgh Fringe Festival last year with unprecedented demand. Emer has performed at festivals and venues all over the world, and loves nothing more than making people laugh along with her. But Emer has been a musician all her life, and wants to share her love of music and science by teaching people about both things together. She hopes to inspire others to take up music, and wants to tell everyone about how good music can be for the brain and body.
